Like many of our employees, Sal has extensive experience in green industry. At eight years old, he started working in the agricultural farm business. For the next several years, he picked coffee beans, planted vegetables, made compost, and learned the ins and outs of agricultural landscaping.
Sal finished high school with a degree in graphic design and went on to spend a year at university in an engineering program. In 2000, he moved to The United States and began working at The Virginia Brick Company. Within a year and a half, he was promoted to a supervisor position and managed the daily tasks of over 30 employees until he left the company in 2008.
After moving stateside, he began dabbling part time in the construction industry, learning every aspect of construction and design that he could. He acquired his contractors license in 2011 and still works on freelance projects in his spare time.
Since starting at Roanoke Landscapes, Sal has learned almost every aspect of our business inside and out. He has mulched, mowed, worked on hardscape construction projects, coordinated planting designs, and assisted with property management. Now, he enthusiastically leads our irrigation crew. Through his extensive experience and his hilarious banter, he has earned an excellent rapport with our customers. We are proud to have Salvador as part of our team.
